F.A.Q for custom commissions

WHAT FORMAT WILL I RECEIVE THE PAINTING? IS IT DIGITAL OR A PRINT?

You will receive a high-res digital file that is formatted for an 8x10 print. I recommend ordering gicleé prints from www.mpix.com or www.artifactuprising.com!

CAN I USE THE FILE FOR MY HOLIDAY CARDS OR PRINT AT HOME?

Yes! You can use the file for any personal use like a gift, prints, canvases, holiday cards, etc. It cannot be used for any commercial use such as advertising or selling to third parties.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO COMPLETE?

On average: 7-14 days.
It depends on the time of the year as I am busier around any holidays. Each commission takes me in total 4-8 hours to finish depending on how much detail there is, however, this is stretched over the course of 1-2 weeks. Because my weekly schedule is always shifting (I am self-employed so I am always working on multiple different projects at once), I will work on it in segments and send you drafts as I go. You’ll receive a rough draft, then a color blocking draft, then a detailed draft, and each time I am checking in with you to make sure you’re loving it so far! The communication back and forth is typically what tacks on the added amount of time because we are working together to finalize everything to your liking. :)

PLEASE NOTE: During busier times, (October - February) sometimes it can take up to 3-4 weeks to complete since I’ll have many orders at once and I complete them in the time the order is received. For example, if I receive 10 orders in one day, that means the next batch of 10 orders is already pushed a few weeks behind.

CAN I PLACE A RUSH ORDER?

Yes! If you absolutely need your order complete in time for someone’s birthday or a holiday, there is a $100 rush fee. This bumps you up to the top of the list as a priority. Please be sure to include the date for your deadline in the google form linked above.

HOW DO I SEND YOU PHOTOS AND INFO FOR THE COMMISSION?

You MUST fill out this form. Please note that I will NOT begin a commission until this form is completely filled out. And PLEASE be as detailed as possible - tell me outfit descriptions, tattoos, hairstyles, etc. This helps us later on in the communication process when we are finalizing all the details. If I have all the details right from the get-go, we will have less of a back and forth and you’ll receive your commission faster! :) 

I cannot accept photos/info through Instagram DMs or emails. It becomes confusing and difficult trying to keep track of who is who and who sent what. Emails and DMs get buried and lost in my normal day-to-day messages. With the form, everything will be in one place and won’t move until I’m ready to start your commission.

I WANT 11+ SUBJECTS IN MY COMMISSION/I WANT A MORE DETAILED BACKDROP SCENE. HOW MUCH DOES THIS COST?

I will have to know more info about this before I can price it! The more detail is added to a drawing, the longer it will take me, so it all depends on what your vision is!

CAN YOU DO A PORTRAIT FOR ME IN A TRADITIONAL MEDIUM LIKE WATERCOLOR OR GOUACHE?

At the time, I am only doing digital commissions. Working digitally lowers the stakes of a mistake forcing me to start over from scratch - so for the sake of saving time and labor - I’m sticking to the digital format when it comes to custom drawings.
